The family-owned company was founded in 1927 by Josef Ante in Winterberg-Züschen, and is now run by the 3rd and 4th generation. The ante-Group has over 750 employees at four locations in Germany and Poland. It produces modern wood products which are sold all over the world.
The product portfolio includes sawn lumber, solid structural timber (KVH), glued laminated timber (BSH), engineered framing as well as home and garden products such as furniture, play sets, fences and panels. The value-added chain is rounded out by the production of HD pellets from shavings and sawdust produced as a by-product. In this ® way, ante uses almost 100% of the sustainable raw material wood.
In addition to the highly motivated employees, modern machinery ensures that the high ante quality standards are met in all regards. ante meets the demands of the modern market with numerous internationally recognised certifiates such as PEFC, DIN Plus, CE, etc.
Sawn timber is the basic product produced from log wood through processing in the lumber mill. It can be used for many different things, green, dried, planed or as KVH® raw material or BSH laminations. At ante, we produce the appropriate product out of every log.
In the ante-Group, KVH® (solid structural timber) is produced out of spruce, pine and Douglas fir using state-of-the-art systems. Thanks to its defined quality and dimensional stability, KVH® has become an indispensable material for modern wood construction.
BSH (glued laminated timber) is an industrially manufactured product which consists of no less than three layers of spruce laminations which are glued together with the fibres running in parallel. BSH is distinguished by extremely high dimensional stability, low crack formation, higher load capacity in comparison to conventional construction timber and high fire safety, among other things.
We supply sawn timber in all dimensions for just about every application – laths, boards, squared timber, flooring/decking and planed timber. All material is kiln dried. Our sawn timber is machine graded according to DIN 4074, S10/EN 338. This strength grading allows us to achieve the defined product properties.
A Glulam Beam is a premium product, produced by ante from spruce. The manufacturing process involves the individual boards (laminations) being overlaid flat and adhesively bonded.
- High strength
- High geometric stabilityracking
- High mechanical strength with low inherent weight
- Ecologically safe
- In-house monitoring and external monitoring by the MPA Stuttgart and Holzforschung -Austria, Vienna, inspectorates.
Finger-jointed structural timber (KVH®) is also known as structural sawn timber. In the ante Group, KVH® is produced from spruce using the latest technologies.
Advantages compared to conventional sawn coniferous wood:
- Reduced cracking and rejections by heartwood separation and drying of the timber
- Machine sorting to German and European industry standards results in fewer knots
- KVH® is planed all four sides (S4S) and all edges are eased (E4E).
