Welcome to the presentation by the Federal Republic of Germany at Indiawood!
A recent market analysis prepared for the VDMA has shown: The Indian timber industry has great opportunities for the future. By international standards the country is currently developing at an incredible rate. With the growth of the economy the living standard of the population will also improve. The future market for floor coverings and furniture is enormous. Thanks to low costs of production Indian products are competitive in the global market. Indian modular furniture production is set to grow by more than 25% p.a. every year up to 2009, from the current level of 125 million Euro. It is therefore safe to assume that there will be strong growth in the market for woodworking machinery at the same time.
German manufacturers of woodworking machinery lead the world in the field. They offer much more than just the machine: Thinking of themselves as partner to the timber industry, they offer their know-how and their detailed knowledge of production procedures, beginning with the investment decision and throughout the entire utilization period of the machine.
